5. DeMarcus Cousins, Sacramento Kings

DeMarcus Cousins, known affectionately as Boogie, would have made this list last season too. Since then, he decided he wanted to add a three-point stroke to his game despite being the best post scorer in the NBA.

He actually managed to do it. Boogie now takes more than three shots per game from beyond the arc, and he’s draining nearly 35 percent of them. That’s lowered his field goal percentage a bit, but adding an extra dimension never hurts a player’s overall game.

Cousins hasn’t exactly stopped his post dominance, either. Boogie scores more than 27 points per game in less than 35 minutes. He also grabs 11.5 rebounds and nabs 1.5 steals per game.

Everybody knows Boogie is an incredible offensive player. What many don’t know is that he’s also a menace on defense. Cousins has only been better on the offensive end in one of his six NBA seasons according to win shares, and box plus/minus has him as a better defender for six consecutive seasons.

Boogie Cousins does it all, but unfortunately Sacramento still can’t find a way to win games. A player as talented as DeMarcus Cousins should be winning more games than this.
