The general consensus entering 2015-16 was that the San Antonio Spurs made the biggest signing of the year in LaMarcus Aldridge. A fifth career All-Star Game appearance justified the hype, to some extent, but even then critics existed due to his erratic play.

Over his past five games, Aldridge has begun to emerge as the star San Antonio believed it was getting.

This is a continuation of the hot streak Aldridge put together leading up to the 2016 NBA All-Star Game.

Aldridge scored 20-plus in points in five of six games entering All-Star Weekend, and has come back just as hot. He’s scored 20-plus points in five consecutive outings, and that’s a promising sign for the Spurs moving forward.

Thus far in 2015-16, San Antonio is 20-3 when Aldridge scores at least 20 points.

An up-and-down start to the season hurts Aldridge’s ranking, but he’s another big week away from cracking the Top 20. He’s pacing the Spurs to the second-best record in the NBA with his scoring, and is beginning to look like a true equal to Kawhi Leonard.

If Aldridge and Leonard maintain their current pace, San Antonio can defeat any team in a seven game series—yes, even them.
