If you thought that Damian Lillard would come back down to earth after dropping 51 points on Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors, you thought wrong. Not only is he playing at an elite level, but he’s maintaining the explosive pace.

Since the All-Star Break, Lillard is averaging 33.5 points on a slash line of .480/.419/.927.

Lillard opened this most recent week in the same way that pushed him into the Top 10. He dropped 50 points on 16-of-28 shooting against Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors, and followed that up with 26 points, five rebounds, and five assists at the Detroit Pistons.

Just two days later, Lillard put up 41 points, 11 assists, and five rebounds in a 116-109 victory over John Wall and the Washington Wizards.

Lillard’s chip-on-my-shoulder approach to the game is helping him become one of the most popular players in the NBA. He’s scoring at an elite level since the break, but he was both productive and leading the Portland Trail Blazers to an overachieving season before this recent stretch.

Assuming Portland continues to win games, and clinches a postseason berth, Lillard will have earned an All-NBA selection.
