2. Can Bulls Rediscover Defensive Edge?

It is no secret that the Bulls have struggled from a defensive standpoint to put it mildly. Last season, they gave up 97.8 points per contest, which was the ninth-best mark in the league. This year, they are giving up 102.5 points per game, placing them at No. 15, per Basketball-Reference.com.

In addition to that, they have also allowed at least 100 points in 16 of their last 17 outings. Needless to say, it is next to impossible to win games if you are unable to stop your opponent.

In years past, this team took pride in being one of the best defensive teams in the league. But for some reason, that hasn’t been the case during the current campaign. And unless the Bulls start playing with the nastiness and physicality that Fred Hoiberg has been talking about over the past several weeks, their chances of making the playoffs will be murky at best.
