Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic is unique among these four rookies in that he’s already earned a starting gig with the Denver Nuggets. Jokic has been great for Denver all season, and should remain a starter there for a long time.

Jokic is scoring just less than 10 points per game. He’s hitting 52 percent of his field goals, 38 percent of his three-pointers, and 81 percent of his free throws.

That’s terrific accuracy from any player, but especially from a rookie center! What could be preventing Jokic from getting more time in the limelight?

To be honest, Denver could. The Nuggets are as close to invisible as an NBA team ever could be. They’re not horrible or great or bad or good, but instead very mediocre. No Nuggets are star players. They’re very nondescript.

But if Jokic keeps developing and Emmanuel Mudiay does as well, it will be impossible to ignore either of them, or the Denver Nuggets.
