Stanley Johnson

There is really no buzz around Stanley Johnson at the moment, mostly because he’s currently injured. Johnson is slated to return this season, although the exact timing is currently unclear.

Hopefully the Stanimal can return sooner rather than later, as he’s been vital to the Detroit Pistons this season. Johnson only has a handful of starts with the Pistons, but he’s playing in nearly 24 minutes per game.

In those 24 minutes, Johnson is averaging nine points per game on 39 percent field goal shooting, 32 percent three-point shooting, and 78 percent free throw shooting.

The rookie learning curve is steep, but making himself important to Detroit’s playoff push is a big positive for Johnson. The efficiency will grow as he does.

The Pistons’ resurgence is mostly thanks to the incredible leadership of Stan Van Gundy, but Stanley Johnson is a very important cog in Detroit’s machine.
