5. Golden State Warriors

I vomited in my mouth writing this slide, but it’s an absolutely undeniable possibility. Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are locked up long-term, Stephen Curry’s contract won’t expire until 2017, and a number of contracts are coming off of the books in 2016.

It may not be easy for fans to stomach, but the most dominant team in the NBA should be financially capable of signing the most dominant player of this generation.

If you disagree that James is the most dominant player of this generation, then you’re only fueling this possibility. Curry is making that case, which means that he and James would be the single most dominant duo imaginable in the modern NBA.

This will not happen, but if James is to leave Cleveland, Golden State is certainly plausible.

Adding James to any team would make them better, but bringing him to the Warriors would be improving the team to unparalleled heights. They’d have one of the best on-paper rosters in NBA history, with James receiving the rest he’s needed after five straight NBA Finals appearances.

This is a frightening possibility, and one that’s financially plausible.
