8. Arron Afflalo

Unlike most of the players on this list, we have no sample size to work with as far as Arron Afflalo coming off the bench this season. He’s started in all 53 games he’s appeared in for the New York Knicks so far, and he’s predominantly been a starter ever since his first two seasons in the league with the Detroit Pistons.

But as a 30-year-old nine-year veteran, the Knicks would probably prefer a more reliable option than Afflalo, who is averaging 13.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game on .451/.385/.885 shooting splits. Those aren’t terrible numbers by any means, but for the Knickerbocker faithful who tune in night in and night out to watch their team play, watching Afflalo take the third-most shots per game has grown tiresome.

Jose Calderon is the obvious choice among Knicks fans among players that need to be removed from this team’s starting lineup, but he’s too obvious to include here. At this point in his career, Afflalo would really be better suited for a sixth man role, and once New York finds a quality replacement at the 2-spot, it’ll be time for Triple-A to adjust that kind of new role.
