The Clippers Are Second-Tier Contenders

Normally, being considered second-tier contender is a bad thing.

In the NBA this season, it’s not that bad.

The Warriors are dominated the NBA at a historic level and the Spurs aren’t far behind. With no disrespect to the Raptors, the Cavaliers appear to have a pretty clear path to the Finals.

The next tier was headlined and perhaps only occupied by Oklahoma City. The Clippers showed in their victory that they are just as deserving as the Thunder on that second-tier, where they are joined by the Raptors.

The Clippers have been gliding without Blake Griffin, but beating a top team after being down by 22 points while being without the services of a top ten player in the NBA is pretty impressive.

The Clippers are a dangerous team to play in the playoffs and showed in their victory that they are clearly on the second-tier of contenders who are just an injury or two away from being on that first-tier.
