NBA: 20 Players Turning Their Seasons Around
1. Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose playing at a high level again should be no secret right now, since he’s been doing it for weeks. But given his reputation as being washed up over the last few years, and taking into account his less than stellar start to the 2015-16 campaign, there’s no question his resurgence back into the spotlight deserves acknowledgement.

Though he’s been a bit banged up recently, Rose is averaging 19.1 points, 4.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game on 45.9 percent shooting since the start of 2016. His 31.9 percent shooting from downtown leaves something to be desired, but he’s drastically cut down on that shot and has been more aggressive getting into the paint and scoring at the rim.
This, of course, makes it hard for us to do anything but conjure up those wonderful feelings of nostalgia from his MVP days:
Rose is passing the eye test and though he’s no longer seen as an elite point guard who can carry the Bulls to victory, Chicago has got to love what they’ve seen from the former MVP — especially with Jimmy Butler still sidelined.
Here’s hoping Rose can stay healthy enough to keep it going, because he’s finally starting to look worthy of those constant, premature declarations we’ve been hearing for years now that Rose is “back.”
