NBA: 20 Players Turning Their Seasons Around
4. Chandler Parsons
For awhile there, it seemed like the Dallas Mavericks had made a terrible mistake by adding Wesley Matthews to an aging Dirk Nowitzki and another player overcoming injury in the offseason in Chandler Parsons. But now that Parsons has gone back to looking like his old self, most Mavs fans haven’t even had to acknowledge how mediocre Matthews has been.
Since the start of February, Parsons is averaging a team-leading 18.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting 52.1 percent from the floor, 50 percent from three-point range and 85.7 percent from the foul line. Now that he’s fully healthy, he’s rounding into form just in time for the home stretch of the season.
In November, Parsons’ minutes were severely limited and he only averaged 8.0 points per game on 31.3 percent shooting from three-point range. Now that he’s back, it’s no surprise the Magic are reportedly interested in his upcoming free agency.
