6. Tobias Harris

Oh Tobias, Orlando hardly knew you. Despite being unceremoniously shipped off to the Detroit Pistons for Ersan Ilyasova and Brandon Jennings (and no future first round pick! How insulting!) at the deadline, Tobias Harris has recaptured some of last year’s scoring touch, only this time, he’s been far more efficient.

Last season with the Magic, Harris averaged 17.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game on .466/.364/.788 shooting splits, but those numbers dropped to 13.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game on .464/.311/.784 shooting splits in his first Magic season under head coach Scott Skiles.

After 49 appearances, Harris was shipped off for less than his full market value by a Skiles-coached team for the second time. But Stan Van Gundy certainly has been glad to have him, with Harris thriving in the spread offense that’s helped him average 17.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game on incredibly efficient .513/.429/.813 shooting splits. Those percentages might not hold up, but Harris is back on the right track thanks to that little bit of motivation.
