Top Four SGs

  1. James Harden (Rockets) – $10,400 vs. Pelicans (11th)
  2. Andrew Wiggins (Timberwolves) – $6,300 vs. Wizards (28th)
  3. Will Barton (Nuggets) – $6,000 vs. Lakers (13th)
  4. DeMar DeRozan (Raptors) – $7,400 vs. Jazz (2nd)

Rationale:

  • Harden is scoring 53.9 FPPG in three games against the Pelicans this season. The significant difference in his performances against the Pels is that he averages 9.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game, contrary to his season averages of 6.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. Bottom line is he should have a good game. He’s projected to score 53.4 fantasy points.
  • Wiggins hasn’t played against the Wizards this season. His primary fantasy value comes from scoring, but he’s been on a good string of games where he has assisted four times in six games since the All-Star break. Assists and rebounds will be the big factors in his fantasy success. He’s projected to score 31.5 fantasy points.
  • Barton is scoring 30.5 FPPG in two meetings with the Lakers this season. Scoring is going to be the major factor since the Lakers are 28th in points allowed per game and 29th in opponents field goal percentage. He’s projected to score 38.6 fantasy points.
  • DeRozan only scored 27.8 fantasy points against the Jazz in their first meeting. He scored 14 points in that game, which is nine points below his season average. He’s the only player in this game that I’d be willing to draft. It’s a high-risk, high-reward situation where scoring will be key in a slow-paced game. He’s projected to score 41 fantasy points.
