4. Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers

Myles Turner is in a weird spot among his peers. For the prospects below him in the rankings, he’s further away from them than most people realize. However due to injury he hasn’t played enough games and been as consistent as the other three players ahead of him so he’s kind of made his own tier among rookies.

That’s not to say he doesn’t belong in the upper tier of rookies but he just hasn’t done it as long. His play down the stretch will most likely get him there so I’m not too concerned with where I have him pegged.

On the year Turner is averaging 19.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per 40 minutes with a 55.1 percent true shooting percentage and a 17.24 PER. All of those numbers scream potential superstar but they’re taken in a smaller sample size because of his missed time.

What makes Turner such an appealing prospect is his shooting ability combined with his knack for blocking shots and protecting the rim. Centers who can stretch the floor and play defense are all the rage in a league craving more floor spacing, so the Pacers have one of the most valuable bigs in the NBA.
