2016 NBA Rookie Ladder: D’Angelo Russell Best Rookie PG?
2. Kristaps Porzingis, New York Knicks
Kristaps Porzingis is as unique as a unicorn in this league let’s call it for what it is. At 7-foot-3 no one should prove capable enough to run the floor like a guard, shoot threes and still have enough energy to rebound and defend down low at an elite rate.
I can’t think of another player like him, so maybe it’s time to just give him his own category in terms of comparisons. New York has a franchise building block in Porzingis and he’s only going to get better. As he becomes more consistent shooting and scoring he’ll become the Knicks’ top option on offense and hopefully carry them to multiple titles for their sake.
