Marcus Morris

The Detroit Pistons are just half of a game back from being the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. A big part of Detroit contending for a spot in the postseason this year has been Marcus Morris.

Morris is fourth in the NBA in minutes played, with 2,099 so far. Morris has also logged 36.2 minutes per game this year, good enough for sixth in the association. Morris has been a big part of Detroit’s success this season.

Morris’ per game averages aren’t fantastic, but just being on the floor so often is very important to the Pistons. Detroit doesn’t have much of a bench, so Morris has been tasked with playing a ton of minutes for coach Stan Van Gundy when games are on the line.

He’s come through all season in that role. He won’t get the recognition that Reggie Jackson and Andre Drummond do for their role in propelling Detroit to the playoffs, but if the Pistons earn themselves a postseason berth it’ll be thanks to the hard work of Marcus Morris.
