Let Derrick Favors Beast Inside

Utah’s got one of the best big men in the game of basketball on their team, and we’re not talking about Rudy Gobert.

Offensively, Derick Favors is one of the best power forwards in basketball and Utah has a huge advantage every time he steps on the court and he’s healthy.

In the league, it seems like everyone is shifting more towards playing small and spacing the court, whereas Utah is doing the complete opposite and it couldn’t be more intelligent. Utah already has a seven-footer in Gobert who depends in the paint like a few others could.

But where Gobert shines on defense, Favors shines on offense. Moving forward for a team that has difficulty scoring, Utah needs to feed Favors inside and let him work. Favors can score against most power forwards in the league because he’s athletic, can shoot and has a high motor. In Utah’s wins this season he’s averaging 17 points and 9.2 rebounds per game and shoots 50 percent from the floor. That’s their recipe for success.
