5. Utah Jazz

Let’s not forget that the Utah Jazz were one of the only teams reported to be considering a Ty Lawson trade at the deadline. Though the Jazz were wise to avoid giving up any assets to acquire him and wound up making due with Shelvin Mack of the Atlanta Hawks, point guard depth is still a problem for this team (for now, at least).

However, Mack has impressed in his first three games for Utah, two of which he started over Raul Neto. Mack is averaging 13.7 points and 3.7 assists per game with the Jazz so far, shooting an efficient 16-for-34 from the field.

The interest seemed to be there on Utah’s part, but with Mack playing well and Trey Burke and Raul Neto still on the roster, it’s unlikely the Jazz emerge as a serious candidate for Lawson.
