2. Damian Lillard

Games: 2

PPG: 40.5

FG: 28/49 (57.1%)

3PT: 13/24 (54.2%)

So, I know many of you may be thinking, “how the hell is a guy who averaged 40.5 points number two on this list?!” Be patient. After being the biggest All-Star snub of this year, Lillard came out of the gates from the break swinging.

Lillard could’ve been charged with assault for the beating he put on the reigning champion Golden State Warriors. Not only did he hand them their fifth loss of the season, he scored a career-high 51 points shooting 18-for-28 from the field and 9-for-12 from deep. The 22-point victory was the Warriors’ worst loss of the season, but when a guy is having a night like Lillard was, there’s not much anyone could’ve done about it.

The Trail Blazers have been one of the most surprising teams this season. The story of losing 4-of-5 starters has been told to exhaustion and Lillard alongside his backcourt mate C.J. McCollum has proven they can keep the team in the playoff hunt. They’re currently seventh in the West with a 29-27 record and have shown no signs of any drop off, thanks to Lillard.
