Can Derrick Rose Recapture Star Form In 2016?
The Chicago Bulls are a mess right now, but has Derrick Rose rediscovered his groove as a star player?
The Chicago Bulls‘ 2015-16 season has completely fallen apart. The team’s best player, Jimmy Butler, will miss 3-4 weeks with a knee injury, Fred Hoiberg has failed to vamp up the offense or command the respect of his players as a rookie head coach, and Chicago is now only 1.5 games ahead of the Detroit Pistons for the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference.
But if there’s one bright side to the team’s current state and the very real possibility of Chicago missing the playoffs for the first time since 2008, it’s that point guard Derrick Rose has started to look more like himself after a rocky start to the season.
At age 27, Rose should be in the prime of his career, but his extensive history has prevented him from recapturing MVP form and leading the Bulls back to the promised land. Butler has since emerged as the team’s best all-around player, but the questions are already starting to form about to Rose’s future with the team he once carried as LeBron James‘ main competition in the East.
