The NBA trade deadline is a time that all fans wait anxiously for. Some teams make acquisitions in order to prepare their roster for a playoff push, while others begin to get their salary cap set up to make a splash in free agency due to struggles during the current season.

Reflecting back on past the bigger trade deadline deals involving Pau Gasol in 2008, Carmelo Anthony in 2011, and Isaiah Thomas in 2015, there is always anticipation to see a blockbuster deal go down. There were rumblings of star players such as Kevin Love, Dwight Howard, and Blake Griffin having the chance of being moved, but that turned out to be a letdown.

All three players stayed put so as a result, the moves that were made by teams ended up being for role players to help patch up their rotation.
