2014 The Toronto Raptors

The 2013-14 Raptors needed to make a move, the franchise took a risk on acquiring Rudy Gay and the wager was not paying off. The Raptors started the campaign 6-12 and only surfaced for air after the removal of Gay. Upon his exodus the Raptors took off, #WeTheNorth went 42-12 the rest of the way.

The Deal

Toronto sent Gay, Quincy Acy, and Aaron Gray to Sacramento the Kings. In return the Kings sent John Salmons, Patrick Patterson, Greivis Vasquez, and Chuck Hayes to Tdot.

The Raptors fan base got to enjoy their first playoff appearance in six season and though it was short lived the new age Raptors were born. The Raptors won a then franchise record 48 games in 2014, followed it up with 49 in 2015, and sit at 35-17  headed into the 2016 All-Star break.

The Raptors will look to escape the first round for the first time since 2001 come this year’s post-season.
