2016 NBA Trade Deadline Grades For All 30 Teams
San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs came out flat Thursday night against the Clippers, but don’t be fooled; their 45-9 record is still plenty elite, and they’re the only team in the NBA that should’ve been confident enough to stand pat, completely comfortable with their current personnel.
This is really the only team that can compete with the Warriors in a seven-game series, and although they’d be clear underdogs in a series like that, the Spurs didn’t really have many options for improving the roster anyway.
This team has one of the best benches in the NBA, they’re still the league’s stingiest defense, they have one of the greatest head coaches of all time and they have the likely Defensive Player of the Year. The Spurs didn’t need to make a move, and once again, continuity ruled the day for San Antonio.
