Joe Johnson

2015-16 Stats:

  • PPG: 11.5
  • APG: 4.1
  • RPG: 3.8

Joe Johnson was once thought to be a major piece of a championship run for the Brooklyn Nets back when their starting lineup also consisted of Deron Williams, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Brook Lopez. Now, Johnson is a player on a very dysfunctional team and he deserves a chance at getting a ring.

Though the team might be wanting to move on, Johnson has not stressed interest in being bought out and could potentially remain with the team if nothing else happens.

However, many think his time is running out in Brooklyn. As a 14-year veteran of the game, Johnson has never won a championship or even been to the Finals, despite many great seasons with the Atlanta Hawks. It wouldn’t make sense for him to want to stay with a losing team.

He could force a buyout this season and finish the year with a better team before becoming a free agent in the summer and hand-picking his next destination.

For the Mavs, Johnson would be a no-brainer. He still has the ability to score at a high-level and he would be with his old teammate Deron Williams. His firepower off of the bench would be a huge boost for the team.
