4. Tyson Chandler

It’s sad to see both of the Phoenix Suns’ biggest free agency signings on this list, but this team and their 15-year veteran could not have been more mismatched. From Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight’s complete ineptitude in throwing him a simple alley-oop lob to Tyson Chandler‘s hamstring issue and his early lack of bounce, this once promising partnership has quickly fizzled.

It’s nothing personal against Chandler, but the Suns have to be regretting the massive four-year, $52 million deal they offered to lure him away from Dallas last summer. At 33 years old, Chandler is averaging 5.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game this season, has been a disappointment in nearly every on-court facet and may not fit in with the team’s rapidly developing youth movement.

To be fair, Chandler has looked better of late, racking up a pair of 20+ rebound games and filling his role as locker room mentor for youngsters like Alex Len and Devin Booker. But he still has three years and $39 million remaining on his contract, meaning the only teams that would be interested are contenders hoping he’d snap back into form upon rejoining an actual competitive team.

That’s a risky bet considering the long-term salary left on his contract, and general manager Ryan McDonough will have his hands full at the trade deadline with so many movable pieces. Chandler is probably better than his 2015-16 numbers and could help the right team, but his remaining salary may deter suitors hopeful he can still be the Tyson Chandler we saw as recently as 2014-15.
