Could Thaddeus Young Be A Raptor?

Thaddeus Young has a lot to offer to a contender, but the problem is he won’t find that on his current team, the Brooklyn Nets.

The Brooklyn Nets are as depressing of an NBA team we may ever come across and while they have the players to move to help them get out of the mess they created, they literally don’t have the organizational structure in place as we hit this year’s trade deadline.

Nevertheless, the trade chatter between the Raptors and Nets regarding Young seems to have legs as it’s been reported by both Marc Stein and Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com that there is a mutual interest between the two teams.

Young would certainly be an upgrade over both Luis Scola and Patrick Patterson as he’s a blend of what both players have to offer.

Young’s not quite the floor spacer that Patterson is (Young’s a career 32 percent three-point shooter) but he’s a little more efficient from the field than Scola is at this point (Young’s shooting 51 percent from the field this season).

Additionally, he would fit in well with the team’s current timeline as he’s only 27 years old and his current contract will look infinitely more team-friendly after this summer.
