OKC Thunder: 3 Trades To Acquire Al Horford
Trade No. 3
In this scenario, the Knicks would get the point guard they have been searching for to make a playoff push. Since New York doesn’t have enough assets to get Jeff Teague in a two-team deal, the Thunder could help them out by adding Serge Ibaka to the mix.
Atlanta could attempt to put Ibaka at the center position next to Paul Millsap, which would give them a lineup with five shooters on the floor all the time. Ibaka also presents a rim protector that Horford just isn’t big or athletic enough to be.
Moving Teague would free up the starting point guard position to Dennis Schroder. In December, Schroder made it known that if he wasn’t a starter in Atlanta, he would look elsewhere to become one.
Langston Galloway has been a surprisingly productive player after being undrafted out of Saint Joseph’s University. If the Knicks are looking to trade for a point guard, Galloway’s future with the team could be considered rocky at best, so they may be willing to part with him.

Atlanta would also receive a one-and-a-half seasons of Jose Calderon, who is still a serviceable point guard if nothing else. The Hawks could use him as a backup to Schroder, or an emergency option should their team get hit with the injury bug. His expiring contract next year could also appeal to multiple teams at the deadline if they want to make another move.
