Minnesota Timberwolves: Karl-Anthony Towns & Andrew Wiggins

The Minnesota Timberwolves are building the future of the organization around Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins. That duo provides the type of low-high balance that has helped define countless championship contenders in the past.

Wiggins, the 2015 Rookie of the Year, and Towns, the favorite for the 2016 award, are equally untouchable.

Towns is changing the game, and the fact that he, a center, won the Skills Challenge at All-Star Weekend was an excellent illustration of how. He’s a 7’0″ big man who does everything that he’s supposed to do in the sense that he blocks shots, crashes the boards, and goes to the post.

He’s also an incredibly skilled offensive player who can space the floor from beyond the arc, handle the ball in transition, and play the role of a facilitator in the half court.

Wiggins has been compared to every great shooting guard in NBA history. He’s a natural athlete who’s already averaging upwards of 20 points per game at 20 years old, and that comes without the development of his in-between game or 3-point shot.

Towns and Wiggins are in Minnesota to carry the Timberwolves to an elusive first championship. Let them develop.
