Jamal Crawford

If the Heat want to upgrade their three-point shooting and add some explosiveness to their bench, Jamal Crawford is their man. Crawford has been one of the best sixth men in in the NBA for the better part of the last decade.

Crawford is someone that the Clippers looked to move during the summer, and there were rumors from December that Crawford could be had for the right price. The Heat were one of the teams rumored to be interested in Crawford over the summer, so they could look into his availability once again.

With Tyler Johnson sidelined, the Heat could use some help in the backcourt in their second unit. Gerald Green has shown his inconsistencies at times, while Justise Winslow has a long way to go offensively. Crawford could help bolster that second unit while giving the Heat another option behind Dwyane Wade in case he has to miss any more time because of injury.

Crawford is on an expiring contract with a salary of $5.675 million this season, so he should be easier to acquire than a player with controllable years remaining. The Clippers could have changed their tune about Crawford as the season has gone on, but it wouldn’t hurt the Heat to call and find out as he could bolster their second unit; Crawford is averaging 13.5 points per game this season.
