Ryan Anderson

If the Heat want to truly replace Bosh’s skillset as a stretch-4, there aren’t many better options than Ryan Anderson. Anderson is someone the Heat are supposedly interested in targeting as a free agent this summer, as he is on an expiring contract. But, why wait until the summer to acquire him?

Anderson would solve the power forward problem for the Heat with Bosh sidelined, while also providing elite three-point shooting. Anderson is a career 37.9 percent shooter from the three-point line, and is shooting 38.3 percent from there this season.

While he is not the overall offensive threat that Bosh is, Anderson would open up lanes for Goran Dragic and Dwyane Wade to attack the basket and allow Hassan Whiteside to roam the paint without interference.

Despite being on an expiring contract, Anderson’s salary for this season is a bit pricy for a team trying to avoid taxes as much as the Heat are at $8.5 million. But, the trade exception that the Heat acquired from the three-team deal with the Grizzlies and Pelicans could help facilitate a trade for Anderson.

There is a chance that Anderson could be expensive as a free agent, so it could benefit the Heat to acquire him now and have the first shot at retaining his services.

The Heat will have to get creative in acquiring Anderson, as they do not have many assets to trade this week.
