Omri Casspi

Hey look, another stretch-4.

More from LA Clippers

Omri Casspi

would be a great player to trade for because he could fill their need at small forward while also being a very capable power forward. The Clippers could play him in the role that they likely hoped that Paul Pierce would fill when they signed him.

Casspi is capable of playing the power forward spot in a small-ball lineup and can also slide next to small forward next to Blake Griffin when he returns.

Casspi is a bit better fit than the aforementioned Ryan Anderson, Markieff Morris, Mirza Teletovic, or Jon Leuer because he’s a bit more versatile–he can play both forward positions.

The 27-year old Israeli has been lighting it up from deep this season, with career-highs in points per game (12.1) and three-point percentage (42.2). It’s an added bonus that Casspi had his best game of the season against the Warriors, scoring 36 points in a loss.

If Casspi’s 36-point outing is a sign that he can give the Warriors some matchup problems, he would be a valuable asset for any contender looking to gain an edge against the 48-4 Warriors.

On paper, the Clippers would be downright scary with Chris Paul running high screens with Blake Griffin or DeAndre Jordan with J.J. Redick and Casspi ready to shoot in the corners.
