Chase Budinger

2015-16 Stats:

  • PPG: 4.5
  • APG: 1.0
  • RPG: 2.5

Just four years removed from an appearance in the Dunk Contest, Chase Budinger finds himself with the Indiana Pacers. After only 41 games there, they are already looking to trade him.

Budinger has never had great stats but his long-range shooting has been the definition of his game. His one issue is the fact that he has never really played on a great team. From 2009-12, he was with the Houston Rockets and from 2012-15 he was with the Minnesota Timberwolves. If he could find the right team, he would be a solid addition.

Why Budinger fits in Dallas: Budinger would be a great bench player for the Mavs because of his ability to space the floor. In some ways, he reminds me of the 2010-11 versions of Brian Cardinal and Peja Stojakovic because if you leave him open at the three-point line, he is going to score.

Budinger would be a great fit to play with Devin Harris, who loves to drive and kick it out to a anyone waiting. He would certainly not be a primary scoring option off of the bench but his three-point game would provide the Mavs with some key points.
