Vanderbilt Commodores

One of the preseason’s expected rising teams, Vanderbilt hasn’t been able to figure out the whole winning thing.

Still, the Commodores sit on Lunardi’s First Four Out line, meaning they have a chance to make things happen throughout the rest of the regular season.

A few teams sit ahead of Vanderbilt, so they’re definitely going to need some of them to falter down the stretch. Washington and Butler both lost on Saturday, as did prospective bubble teams Oregon State, Florida and Marquette, all of which helps Vanderbilt begin to creep up in the seeds.

Vanderbilt will have their opportunities to get wins of their own, and they’ll need them. With Saturday’s win at Auburn, the Commodores improved their road record to 2-7. Yes, that’s an improvement.

The rest of the schedule also offers a chance for Vandy to win the SEC regular season title. Sitting just two games back in the standings now, with games left at Florida and Texas A&M and at home against Kentucky, the Commodores can make up some ground quickly.
