Corey Brewer

Ty Lawson has been a disaster, but Corey Brewer is certainly the next biggest disappointment on the team. Well, that’s not exactly true, we almost forgot about Josh Smith.

Back to the topic of Corey Brewer, who’s having easily the worst year of his career since his rookie season. Brewer is averaging 7.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game on shooting splits of .380/.293/.802. He has a net rating of -3.2, which means that the Rockets are outscored by 3.2 points per 100 possessions when he is on the floor.

More than a month ago, the Rockets and Phoenix Suns entered into talks regarding a trade of Markieff Morris of the Suns in exchange for Brewer and Terrence Jones, but Brewer has been a wreck for so long that any interest from the Phoenix end has surely waned. That said, if the Rockets can woo the Suns on this one, this deal is one that surely should be made.

Markieff Morris has been infamous this season for his clashes with head coach Jeff Hornacek of the Suns, but a change of scenery might be in order for him. Then again, that’s what we thought about Ty Lawson, too.
