NBA Trade Rumors: Trade Priorities For All 30 Teams
Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets are likely out of the Western Conference playoff race, despite being six games behind the 8-seed. Danilo Gallinari will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, so it’s in the Nuggets best interest to deal him and get a nice package in return. In addition to Gallo, the Nuggets can also try to move J.J. Hickson and Darrell Arthur. Both are without guaranteed contracts for next season (Arthur has a player option).
Denver has five players on their rookie deals, including a trio of international big men and guards Emmanuel Mudiay and Gary Harris. Wilson Chandler and Kenneth Faried are both signed through the duration of these rookie deals, so the Nuggets aren’t far off from being playoff contenders.

Even if Gallinari is the only moving piece before the trade deadline, the Nuggets could improve for the long haul. Previously, the Celtics expressed interest in Gallinari, but there could be other teams interested. The Nuggets should hope that the Magic call in hopes of landing Victor Oladipo, as HoopsHabit’s Josh Eberley writes. That may be a best-case scenario for Gallo, though.
Gallinari has taken a leap with his game and HoopsHabit’s Michael Dunlap argues that Gallo is becoming a superstar. Perhaps teams would be intrigued by a package of Gallinari and Hickson or Gallinari and Arthur. That may be the best way to maximize a return for the players likely on their way out.
Regardless of what the Nuggets get, it’s important for them to sell high. Now is the time to bring in some serious talent to the Mile High City, though trading Gallinari will be unpopular with Wilson Chandler out for the season. Expect the Nuggets to be active in trade talks, and trying to maximize Gallinari’s value in particular.
