Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers need to trust the process that general manager Sam Hinkie has in place. The Sixers already have a trio of bigs that appear to have bright futures. Namely rookie Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel, since we haven’t seen Joel Embiid play in a game yet.

The Sixers already made a move in acquiring Ish Smith from the Pelicans for two second round picks. Since making the move to acquire Smith, the 76ers are 7-15. With Smith becoming a free agent at season’s end, the 76ers need to address the point guard situation.

They have reportedly called the Hawks to check on the Jeff Teague and Dennis Schroder, according to CSN Philly, but nothing has come of it. Aside from that report, the 76ers have been quiet on possible trade deadline deals.

Philly fans haven’t had a lot to cheer for as a bottom-dweller in the NBA over the past couple years, but this offseason could be an exciting one. The 76ers need to find a shooting guard. In addition to their three big men, they have Jerami Grant who has shown sparks of potential at small forward and they have several point guards that are young and learning.

If the Sixers make a move at the deadline, believe that Jerry Colangelo has his hands on it. The Sixers should target a shooting guard if they are going to move one of their bigs or guards, but they may be quiet on the trading front.
