Steve Wojciechowski and the Marquette Golden Eagles made a massive splash on the recruitment front when they landed big man Henry Ellenson. Ellenson, widely regarded as one of the Top 10 NBA Draft prospects in the country, has shown flashes of potential brilliance.

Whether or not he’s ready for the immediate jump to the NBA, it’s becoming clearer by the day that Ellenson has what it takes to one day stand out at the next level.

Ellenson, who turned 19 in January, has been blessed with an NBA-ready body at 6’10” and roughly 245 pounds with a 7’2″ wingspan. An underrated athlete who can finish above the rim, Ellenson has the physical tools to excel at the next level.

Coupled with a well-rounded skill set that includes an already impressive post game, 3-point range on his jump shot, and intriguing court vision, Ellenson has the potential to be an offensive star.

The best comparisons for Ellenson are Jared Sullinger of the Boston Celtics and Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He’s a better defensive prospect than both, but shares the ability to play inside or out with a strong body and underrated fluidity in his motion.

Ellenson has the potential to be an All-Star, but is more than capable of becoming an impact starter if he fails to reach the Love upside.
