Gonzaga Bulldogs big man Domantas Sabonis is destined to have a solid NBA career. Many have debated whether or not stardom is attainable, but Sabonis’ work ethic and skill set both warrant a first-round grade.

Regardless of which team he joins, Sabonis will be a valuable player whose self-motivated approach earns him a lengthy and rewarding career.

The biggest development in Sabonis’ game is that of an improved back-to-the-basket attack. He fights for position down low, wares the opposition down with his energy, and finishes both above the rim and in the paint with solid touch.

In many ways, Sabonis’ current game is reminiscent of Milwaukee Bucks big man Greg Monroe.

Sabonis is working to improve his shooting range, which is something Monroe has yet to do, but both players get hot by operating from the post and crashing the boards. He isn’t quite as powerful as Z-Bo, but that interior control draws an inevitable and worthy comparison to Zach Randolph.

As his frame fills out and his range expands, Sabonis should work his way into the draft lottery discussion. He’s already a tantalizing prospect.
