The Throw-Ins (Minimal Trade Value)

Pablo Prigioni

Prigioni has seen the court more often as of late after beginning the season out of the rotation.

Still, the 38-year-old point guard doesn’t do much and is on the court only for his pesky defense and veteran floor general skills. Prigioni can disrupt opposing offenses on the right night (eight steals against Heat in 15 minutes) but most of the time, he’s a non-factor. A 38-year-old point guard who is afraid to shoot the ball can only have so little trade value.

Luc Mbah a Moute

How many players starting for playoff teams truly have no trade value? The list might only have one name on it and that name is Luc Mbah a Moute. On most occasions, Mbah a Moute will start each of the halves and not play any other time, including the end of games. Mbah a Moute rarely contributes on the offensive end and is a passable defender. That the Clippers can still thrive with Mbah a Moute in their starting lineup is a testament to the rest of the starters.

C.J. Wilcox

Wilcox was drafted 28th overall by the Clippers in 2014 and hasn’t gotten much action in the NBA since. He’s appeared in only 29 games in his two NBA seasons and averaging less than five minutes per game in the games he has gotten into. It’s not promising that newcomers Wesley Johnson and Luc Mbah a Moute joined the Clippers and immediately earned minutes while Wilcox remains a fixture on the inactive list.

Branden Dawson

The team’s only rookie has appeared only twice this season at the end of blowout wins. He hasn’t exactly torn up the D-League, averaging 6.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in 21 appearances. Dawson could’ve gone undrafted if not for the Clippers buying the 56th pick in the draft and grabbing Dawson, so it’s unlikely that any team would give anything up for Dawson.
