Greg Monroe – Milwaukee Bucks

The Greg Monroe signing in Milwaukee hasn’t worked out, and while Moose is seen as an undoubtedly talented player, it has become evident that he’s a tough fit for any squad. Monroe had production issues in Detroit when he was paired with Andre Drummond in the frontcourt, and ended up coming off the bench for a portion of last year.

In Milwaukee, Monroe has been producing, but once again, hasn’t been a great fit with this club. He’s averaging 16.8 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, and shooting quite efficiently, but his play style hinders ball movement and outside shooting is remarkably absent in Milwaukee’s offense.

On the other end of the court, Monroe has gotten bullied by bigger centers, and is known to be a notoriously awful help-side defender. Milwaukee’s defense has seriously dropped off this year, and the team has lost its identity.

The Bucks won’t be actively shopping Monroe, but they have made him available, according to RealGM:

"The Bucks are interested in making another major trade ahead of this year’s deadline in an attempt to fix their issues. Michael Carter-Williams has been mentioned in trade talks, as has Greg Monroe. Monroe has been productive on offense but he’s been a liability on defense, which made the Bucks such a dangerous team last season."

The Bucks haven’t been able to ascend the ladder in the East, and are still stuck with the third-worst record in the Conference. Something needs to change for Milwaukee if they want any shot at the playoffs this year, and a trade appears to be their best option.

Though quitting on Monroe so soon would epitomize impatience, Milwaukee is a team that is constantly active at the deadline, and if the right deal is presented — one in which they could improve their shooting and defense — don’t expect them to turn it down.
