4. Milwaukee Bucks

It’s not too late for a turnaround, but the Milwaukee Bucks have been the most disappointing team in the NBA. Projected by most to be a Top 5 team in the Eastern Conference, Milwaukee is 21-32 and an unsettling 6.0 games back of the No. 8 seed.

If the Bucks are indeed intending to trade center Greg Monroe, then a potential swap for Hassan Whiteside wouldn’t be the worst idea.

Miami has the personnel to get out and run in transition, but it operates primarily out of the halfcourt. Miami operates at the second-slowest pace in the NBA, and places a heavy emphasis upon being able to score from inside the 3-point line.

Whiteside is the vastly superior rim protector, but Monroe would help Miami offensively as a gifted low-post scorer and facilitator.

If Milwaukee manages to land Whiteside, it’d put stars of the future such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jabari Parker in a significantly better position as they’d no longer have to split touches with a ball-dominant Monroe.

This isn’t a perfect trade, and Miami would likely ask for further compensation, but Monroe could be the fix for Miami’s broken offense.
