8. Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks badly need a new point guard, and Michael Carter-Williams clearly isn’t the answer. Though he’s only in his third season, MCW is already 24 years old, he’s shown zero signs of improving his perimeter shot (29.5 percent three-point shooting this season) and no one is surprised to hear that Milwaukee has already put him on the trading block.

While trading for MCW shouldn’t sound attractive to the Hawks by any means, it’s worth mentioning that they’d only be using him to back up Dennis Schroder. If the Bucks threw in a future draft pick to sweeten the deal (along with Greivis Vasquez, who comes off the books this summer and would be needed to balance the salaries out), perhaps the Hawks wouldn’t hang up right away.

Carter-Williams has mostly been a disappointment since his “impressive” rookie season. He’s averaging only 11.6 points per game, but it’s worth noting that he’s also posting 5.5 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game while shooting a respectable 45.5 percent from the floor. He can’t knock down perimeter shots, but wouldn’t he be a decent two-way option to back up Schroder? MCW is also three years younger than Teague, by the way.

From Milwaukee’s perspective, they’d be getting a vast upgrade at the point guard position who could help this young core take the next step. Teague is a better facilitator, perimeter shooter and scorer than MCW at this point, and his influence on the offensive end could be a big help for developing players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jabari Parker.
