When a player is as accomplished as Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James, it’s easy to take them for granted. Grand feats that would normally be appreciated are downplayed as the norm for players of James’ stature and glory.

If the past week has proven anything, it’s that James isn’t yet ready to relinquish his throne as The King of this generation.

James scored 30 points in a loss to the Boston Celtics, and while his scoring numbers decline, he progressively improved his level. He tallied 27 points and eight assists on 11-of-20 shooting against the New Orleans Pelicans, and ripped off 29 points, 11 dimes, seven rebounds, and a steal in a win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Between those two performances, James recorded 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in 31 minutes for his first triple-double of the season.

James enters the All-Star Break in a position of relative uncertainty. No one truly knows how well the Cavaliers would fare in the NBA Finals, as the favorites to emerge from the Western Conference all appear to be superior teams.

Regardless of who wins MVP, one thing remains abundantly clear: the team with LeBron James will have a legitimate shot at the NBA championship.
