6. Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans

By way of efficiency and production, Anthony Davis has regressed since 2014-15. To say that would be to ignore the dramatic changes that have transpired in New Orleans, however, including a new head coach, Alvin Gentry, asking Davis to expand his range.

Davis has already attempted 49 more 3-point field goals in 2015-16 than he’d put up in his first three seasons combined.

The results have fluctuated, but there’s no denying that Davis is already one of the Top 10 players in the NBA. An All-NBA First Team honoree in 2014-15, Davis is getting closer to rediscovering that form as he attempts to pull the Pelicans out of the gutter.

Over the past week, Davis has played at something closer to an MVP level than anything else.

The former No. 1 overall draft pick began the week with 39 points and 11 rebounds on 16-of-25 shooting against the Los Angeles Lakers. He then tallied 24 points and 11 boards against the Cleveland Cavaliers, had 27 points during a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, and tallied 19 points and five assists in a victory over the Utah Jazz.

If nothing else, get excited by the fact that Davis will make his third career All-Star Game appearance before he turns 23 this coming March.
