1. Cleveland Cavaliers: Andrew Wiggins, Kansas

Original selection: 1st by the Cleveland Cavaliers

2015-16 statistics: 20.7 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 1.8 APG, 16.35 PER

Andrew Wiggins has proven in the last two seasons that he is the best player of the 2014 draft class. Although he was the top recruit coming out of high school, Wiggins didn’t have a spectacular freshman season at Kansas, but his potential and upside were too high to pass up.

A month after he was drafted, Wiggins and Anthony Bennett were traded to Minnesota in exchange for Kevin Love. Wiggins is now the franchise player for the young Timberwolves squad, and now that he is teamed with last year’s top pick, Karl-Anthony Towns, the future in Minnesota looks bright.

The rumblings of whether or not the Cavaliers should’ve traded Wiggins are still present. Before the firing of head coach David Blatt, Kevin Love seemed to be a piece that simply didn’t fit with the team, so it was only fair for fans to wonder what the team would be with LeBron James mentoring Wiggins and teaching him the way to become successful.

“Would’ve, should’ve, could’ve” as they say, and the Timberwolves couldn’t be more happier about the trade that was made as they continue to form a team who has the chance to be a playoff contender for a long time coming.
