12. Orlando Magic: Nik Stauskas, Michigan

Original selection: 8th by the Sacramento Kings

2015-16 statistics: 7.3 PPG 2.3 RPG 1.8 APG 8.18 PER

Nik Stauskas came into the draft regarded as the top three-point shooter, which automatically caught the eye of the majority of NBA teams. The Big Ten Player of the Year helped lead his team to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament before Michigan was defeated by Kentucky 75-72.

When he was selected by the Sacramento Kings, it seemed to be a good fit because they needed a threat from beyond the arc. Instead, Stauskas struggled to find opportunities to make an impact in his 15.4 minutes per game throughout his rookie season and the Kings decided to trade him to the Philadelphia 76ers last summer.

Opportunity was there for Stauskas in Philadelphia and also allowed him to learn from mistakes without being pulled immediately from the game. Although he still hasn’t reached his full potential, his scoring rate increased along with his minutes per game (23.9).

Stauskas would be a good fit in Orlando to give them a consistent threat from three. Evan Fournier could be on the way out as this season is the last on his current contract and Mario Hezonja is still adjusting to the NBA game. Stauskas and Hezonja could be a dangerous duo in the coming years.
