Why do the Kings do this?

Let’s assume the Kings always pick up the phone and have no idea what direction they’re headed. (Not a huge leap.) Cousins has been rumored on the trade block on and off for two seasons. The Kings season is trending down yet again and they may or may not have a head coach by the time this article is published. It’s chaos in Sacramento and has been for some time. This is a legitimate package that the Kings are receiving. Vucci Mane is incredibly underrated, his 20.3 PER is ninth among qualifying centers. He’s a solid rebounder and all-around talent offensively.

They would need to flip Rudy Gay as well, but that could happen regardless. They add three very good starters in Vucevic, Oladipo, and Harris. All three start immediately for the Kings along with dynamo distributor Rajon Rondo. They get an underrated asset in Nicholson and a future first! The Cousins saga in Sacramento has been convoluted and full of strife. You won’t see a better all around package of youth and already proven talent.

Why do the Magic do this?

It’s DeMarcus Cousins. He’s a top 5-10 talent in this league. If you’re going to blow your core up, you do it for a name like Cousins. They also keep Gordon, Hezonja, and Payton the three names allegedly most important to the franchise. The Magic hope like hell they’re a power come the next few seasons and pull the trigger on the biggest trade this decade. It’s simple, how much faith do the Magic have in their young trio? All three were lottery picks in the past two seasons and Cousins is an elite player. If you believe in that grouping you have a chance to put something really special together.
