When the Milwaukee Bucks signed Greg Monroe during the summer of 2015, many called it the steal of the summer. Monroe, a top free agent, opted to join a small-market team that balanced unbelievable upside with a ferocious defense that won 41 games in 2014-15.

Less than 60 games in, the Bucks are already looking for ways to trade Monroe, per Gery Woelfl of The Racine Journal Times.

"Based on conversations with several NBA execs from the Eastern and Western conferences, the Bucks are more than receptive to playing “Let’s Make a Deal.’’ …the Bucks have made it known that center Greg Monroe is available at the right price, according to some NBA officials."

Milwaukee is desperate to turn things around, and a trade may be the only way it can salvage this disappointing season.

Milwaukee is well below .500, and it’s played that way since infamously trading Brandon Knight at the 2015 trade deadline. Monroe was viewed as a player who could stabilize the sputtering offense, but that’s yet to transpire in 2015-16.

A trade isn’t necessarily imminent, but given Woelfl’s additional report that Michael Carter-Williams is on the chopping block, Milwaukee is clearly looking for an impact player at point guard.

Trading Monroe could net the Bucks the return they’re looking for. Monroe is a shaky defender, at best, but he’s also a 25-year-old double-double machine with one of the most consistently effective post games in the NBA.

If a team is looking for a throwback big man who can crash the boards, score from the low block, and facilitate from the elbow, Monroe can be had for the right price.
