10. Emmanuel Mudiay, Denver Nuggets

In a weekly ranking Mudiay wouldn’t be in this spot. As highly touted as he was coming into the league he’s been fairly awful by almost every statistical measure.

At times he looks like he has it all figured out. He’ll make a jump shot, finish at the rim or connect on a pretty pass. Then he’ll take a horrible shot or commit an ugly turnover and anything good he did goes out the window.

Right now Mudiay has an 8.2 PER and a true shooting percentage of 40.5 percent, not to mention he averages 3.6 turnovers per game and has done more harm for his Nuggets than backup point guard Jameer Nelson.

So why would I suggest that he could still be special in his first season? Mudiay has all the physical tools to one day dominate in this league. Not only that but he has the court vision and strength to finish at the rim or make the right play off the drive to the basket.

Those talents alone gave enough scouts reason to suggest Mudiay could become a floor general in the mold of John Wall a few years down the road. If that’s the case, then maybe a break is all the kid needs to get his game back on track and show us that he’s still got something special left to show us.
