7. Chris Bosh, Toronto Raptors vs. Sacramento Kings, Feb. 7, 2010
The Toronto Raptors were still in the thick of the playoff race when they hosted the Sacramento Kings at Air Canada Centre on Super Bowl Sunday in 2010, coming in at 27-23.
The Kings, meanwhile, were losers of five straight and were just 16-33 when they cleared customs.
But Ime Udoka’s layup at the third period buzzer put Sacramento ahead 87-84 entering the final quarter.
Enter Chris Bosh.
The Raptors’ All-Star went off for 12 points and five rebounds in the final 12 minutes as Toronto ran away from the Kings for a 115-104 win.
Bosh finished with 36 points while going 14-for-18 from the floor, adding 11 rebounds and five assists.
But the Raptors swooned over the final part of the season and missed the playoffs, while Bosh played in 70 games and averaged a career-high 24 points and 10.8 rebounds per game on .418/.364/.797 shooting. It was the end for the Boshasaurus, however, as Bosh left for the Miami Heat as a free agent after the 2009-10 season.
In Super Bowl XLIV at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., MVP Drew Brees helped the New Orleans Saints to their first-ever championship with a 31-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
